Professor Martyn Cobourne

Martyn Cobourne is Professor and Academic Head of Orthodontics at King’s College London, and Hon Consultant in Orthodontics at Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust. He has published more than 160 original articles and four textbooks, including the popular Handbook of Orthodontics. His research has included ground-breaking randomised clinical trials investigating self-ligating brackets, vibrational force and twin-block functional appliances. He has won the Chapman Prize of the British Orthodontic Society for best published article four times and the Dewel Clinical Research Award of the American Association of Orthodontists for best published article in the American Journal of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics in 2019. He has been Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Orthodontics since 2012. www.evidencebasedorthodontics.com
